Chevrolet Silverado 1500/GMC Sierra [w/Gallery]
Tue, 18 Dec 2012The all-new Chevrolet Sliverado and GMC Sierra 1500 pickups will be looking to steal sales from the dominant Ford F-Series in the US full-size truck market in the 2014 model year.
The Silverado is the flagship of Chevrolet's three-truck portfolio, sitting above the Silverado 3500 and 2500 HD. The GMC Sierra features the same basic package as its bow-tied sibling but with unique features to offer a more premium proposition.
The Silverado features Chevrolet's signature two-port grille that includes split-level lamps. The Sierra features the signature GMC grille with a more technical look available in either body color or chrome alongside optional LED running lamps.
In profile the squared fender flares of the previous generation are more prominent and precisely surfaced. The GMC adds chrome strips to the DLO and lower door surface to increase its visual length.
Inside both models promise to raise the bar in truck interiors will and all-new IP, featuring a large central touch screen and soft-touch moldings in some models. Dials and buttons are grouped close together near the steering wheel, designed to be easily navigated and used while driving, even wearing gloves.
